A translation of the Zhongyong 中庸 „The Doctrine of the Mean“, which is a part of the Liji 禮記, but has been used as a separated text. Ritual Classic. It is ascribed to Confucius‘ grandson Kong Ji 孔伋, called Zisi 子思 (in Rémusat’s transcription „Tsèu-ssê“.
An earlier French translation under the title Tchong Yong ou Juste Milieu by Cibot was published in volume 1 of the Mémoires concernant les Chinois (pp. 459-489)
