Sigmund Ritter von Fries: Abriss der Geschichte China’s seit seiner Entstehung. Nach chinesischen Quellen übersetzt und bearbeitet (Wien: Frick; Hongkong/Shanghai: Kelly & Walsh, 1884).

The Austrian-born Sigmund Ritter von Fries (d. 1893) entered the Imperial Chinese Maritime Customs. For this work, a compendium of the history of China from its beginning, he made use of Wang Fengzhou’s Gangjian quanbian.
