Lange’s second voyage to China took place in 1719-1721. At this occasion he kept a detailed diary which was published in 1726 in Leiden. A French translation was published in the eighth volume of Recueil des voyages au Nord.
Lange’s third voyage to China took place in 1727/28 on the occasion of the Russian embassy that negotiated the Treaty of Kiakhta (1727). In 1736, Lange joined the Russian caravan for a fourth visit to China.
